Install PageLines DMS
For site design, we will be using PageLines DMS as a theme framework moving forward (do not install this on any existing sites unless there is a project to re-design the site). Installing PageLines DMS requires the uploading of the theme file, as well as related plug-ins (see next section). To obtain the PageLines DMS theme and plug-in files:-
Log into PageLines.
- Username or email onelivemedia
- Password rJ7DrGu3hZoE
- Click Login.
- Download DMS Framework.
- Go to Appearance > Themes in the WordPress site backend.
- Click Add New.
- Click Upload Theme.
- Click Choose File. Locate the dms.zip file you downloaded from PageLines.
- Click Install Now.
- Hover over the DMS2 theme and click Activate.
Install Plugins
The following are the minimally required plug-ins for all our sites. Some variations may occur based on project requirements, but initially, all these should be installed.
It is assumed that as one creating this install, you are quite familiar with using WordPress. Therefore, unless otherwise noted, install all plug-ins from the WordPress plug-in repository or downloading and uploading the plug-in. Activate each plug-in when installed.
Included with each are the initial settings, if any, that should be made.
PageLines Plug-ins Additional functionality is added to DMS2 through the addition of various plug-ins. While there are many free and paid plug-ins, the following are minimally required in order to provide updating and other functionality we will use often. To download these, log into the PageLines site as described above and download the intended plug-ins. Install each by uploading the Plug-ins through the WordPress plug-in installation process.
