Activate Domain

Send a request to Client Domain manager to point www to Shopify instance

Activating a site involves the re-pointing of the domain to the Shopify store.

Before starting, email Christian Garceau at Shopify:

Dear Christian,

We are preparing to launch SHOPIFY_URL.

Please report as soon as possible the CNAME URL we are to point to for this store.

Once received from Shopify, paste into the Site Requirements notebook file in TeamWork.

Note: You will need the CNAME pointer back from Shopify before completing the next steps.

Regardless of whether OLM manages the domain, or the client does, please email the following instructions to whomever is managing the domain (for OLM, send to webmaster@onelivemedia.com). For client managers, consult the TeamWork notebook records or ask the Project Manager.

When the final store URL will begin with "www," send these instructions:

Hello,

ONELIVE Media is ready to launch your new store. In order to do that, the DNS for the site must be changed.

The domain records for www.STORE_DOMAIN need to be changed as follows:

STORE_DOMAIN.com A record pointing to 23.227.38.32
www.STORE_DOMAIN.com CNAME record pointing to SHOPIFY_CNAME

We suggest you set the TTL for these records at no more than 3600.

Once completed, please let us know.

If the final store URL is a sub-domain of the primary domain, such as shop.domain.com or store.domain.com, send the following email:

Hello,

ONELIVE Media is ready to launch your new store. In order to do that, the DNS for the site must be changed.

The domain record for STORE_DOMAIN needs to be added or changed as follows:

STORE_DOMAIN CNAME record pointing to SHOPIFY_CNAME

We suggest you set the TTL for this record at no more than 3600.

Once completed, please let us know.

Christian,

We have setup the domain for STORE_DOMAIN (SHOPIFY_URL). It is ready to launch.

As soon as possible, please install the SSL certificate for this store and configure your servers to force all traffic to use https throughout the site.
